Day 1: Attitude of Humility

Day 1 of Attitude challenge - Attitude of Humility

We can all agree that we live in an attention-seeking world. Marketing is all about getting your attention and influencing your decision-making. Social media is so popular because it promotes the attention of billions of people every day. But do you know how to get and maintain the attention of others?

🌟🌟🌟🌟 Attitude of Humility 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Humility is essential to having a healthy attitude. C.S. Lewis describes humility not as thinking less of ourselves but as thinking of ourselves less. Those who have an attitude of humility have an opposite mindset of "I first" and "Me first." Humility is the key to getting God's attention. Humility is an attitude of valuing and promoting God's interest and others' interest before your self-interests. The Bible describes humility as selflessness, lowliness, and meekness.

🌼🌼🌼

The Beatitudes (Be-Attitude) are a series of blessings declared by Jesus that believers share due to the character and attitudes he describes. The first Be-Attitude is a result of a humble attitude and is the foundation for the remaining blessings.
Blessed are the poor (humble) in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mat 5:3).

You are humble in spirit when you think of yourself less and understand that you are bankrupt of true goodness. Therefore, you recognize that you are spiritually helpless and depend on Jesus to save you from the consequences of sin.

🌼🌼🌼

An attitude of humility is how you catch and maintain the attention of God. This Be-Attitude is also how you influence God and others.

  • Think about a time when someone influenced you.
  • Think about a time when you influenced someone.

I guess yesterday I put my blog in the wrong place. Yesterday I had an experience where I could’ve been really upset because I’ve been trying to get an appointment with a certain place for months but was always being put on hold or the computer would freeze up on their website. Yesterday I finally got a real person and I was so grateful to speak to a human instead of a recording I guess if the lady could’ve been able to see threw the phone she would’ve seen the biggest smile. So, I was just so grateful and thanked God that I was able to get this much needed appointment.

I took the Happy Assessment I’m not please with my assessment. I got a lot of work to do on myself. Also the act of humility. As I was approaching the door for work this morning, there were a group of co-worker approaching the door also. But I was the only one with their badge out to enter. Instead of waiting on them to find their badges, I use my badge and I let them enter first and I was last to enter. I realize it wasn’t about me being first but it was about the care of other that needed help at that time.
